Relationships can become lonely, tense, and emotionally exhausting. Whether you feel stuck in recurring conflict, emotionally disconnected from your partner, overwhelmed by parenting stress, or uncertain how to move forward after a breakup or divorce, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and the people who matter most.
Couples Therapy Is the Primary Focus of My Practice
Couples therapy is not an add-on to my work—it is the core focus of my practice. Because relationships are complex, they benefit from specialized, relationship-focused treatment rather than general therapy approaches.
My work is grounded in two of the most effective, research-based models for couples therapy: The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). My advanced training in both methods allows me to tailor therapy to each couple’s unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
Some couples need practical tools to improve communication and reduce conflict. Others need support understanding deeper emotional patterns, attachment needs, and the cycles that create distance. By integrating both approaches, therapy addresses not only what is happening between partners, but why those patterns are happening in the first place.
From Disconnection to Understanding
Many couples describe feeling more like roommates or co-parents than partners. Conversations become tense, avoidant, or hard to navigate, and over time emotional closeness can feel further and further away.
Remember what it felt like when things were easier—when you could talk, laugh, and feel close? Nola Counseling can help you get back to that kind of connection.
Support for Individuals and Parents
In addition to couples therapy, I work with individuals navigating relationship patterns, breakup or divorce recovery, and personal growth. I also support parents navigating stress, conflicting parenting styles, and the complexities of blended family roles, with a focus on strengthening their relationship as partners and parents.
